ARC blog 2019 - Johanna's song

02 December 2019

Hello everyone at home. Don't worry about me, I'm in the middle of a great adventure. This is much better than I ever imagined. No. 1, I'm wearing shorts 24 hours a day. No. 2, I see the ocean everywhere I turn. No. 3, I sing at least one song really loud every day. So therefore I take the tone like Taube, stay safe and see you when I come ashore again!!! /Johanna As long as the Sirli can go As long as the wave can beat As long as the wind in the sails can make the gennaker last As long as a watch or two As long as there's another mile to trim us O who would have thought that we'd sail out of Las Palmas To shoot and promise and fall And under the moonlight's watch we'll keep the knots in time And get one more shooting star to wish for in a howling waltz Yes, who would have thought that the ten of us from the shore Would click so well on the ship Sirli And who would have thought that the ten of us from the city Would swim from the stern straight down into the Atlantic To the skipper's song, And if the night is long, a breakfast of porridge awaits us again, ding ding dong As long as the Sirli can go As long as the waves can beat As long as the wind in the sails can keep the gennaker going So go up to our watch even though it stings You'll see the sun come up, all the time And it won't stop you at all when we're at the helm dancing the waltz, But none of us on deck want to go home to the gray For the Caribbean is where we want to stay So when the gennaker's collapsed we'll find the trade winds again And shit the sails and trim and brace Eating fruit from a net, seeing a shark, losing our shoe, the wind sailing around our Shama As long as the ship can go As long as the wave wants to beat As long as the wind in the sails can make the gennaker last!!
